The old-fashioned is a simple way to dress up whiskey. Made with bitters, sugar, and an orange slice, it's an excellent way to experiment with any style of whiskey
Ingredients: 50 ml whiskey | 2 tbsp simple syrup | 1 tsp water | 2 dashes of bitters | Ice | 1 orange slice | 1 cherry
Recipe:Pour the simple syrup, water and bitters into a whiskey glass and stir to combine. Add ice cubes to the glass and pour whiskey over them. Garnish with a slice of orange and a cherry on top.
The whiskey sour is a timeless recipe that's too good to pass up. You'll enjoy how the tart lemon plays off some of the sweeter notes in whiskey (backed up by a touch of simple syrup). Adding an egg white to the shaker gives it an intriguing mouthfeel, though you can skip it if you like.
